Job Description - Sr. Network Engineer
TITLE: Sr. Network Engineer
Location: Waller, TX
Compensation Range : $65-75/hr
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides technical leadership and guidance to the team
- Documents, plans and executes network design and architecture to ensure compliance. Configures and maintains routers, switches, and hubs for the network systems (including wireless and VoIP).
- Implements solutions to improve monitoring for network performance, ensures capacity planning is performed, and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement.
- Leads troubleshooting and problem-solving procedures and designs resolution scripts based on these procedures.
- Plan and lead implementation of Local Area Networks Wide Area Networks and Wireless Local Area Networks, including development of configurations based upon overall strategy and design document.
- Assist with M&A infrastructure
- Implement and/or oversee implementation of routing protocols, including EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
- Perform other duties as required
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science / Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or 8 years+ of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
- 10+ years' experience in design, implementation, and troubleshooting complex networks – involving many nodes of various types (routers, firewalls, switches, etc).
- 3+ years of Cloud experience
- 4+ years of MPLS, QoS, VOIP experience
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years of Infrastructure solutions
- CCNP or Meraki certifications preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer focus and multi-tasking skills
- Self-starter who is excited about technology
Skills & Abilities:
- Expertise in Network engineering of designing and architecting networks.
- Expertise implementing production critical services in AWS environment
- Expertise with Load Balancing, Iperf, Routing Protocols, Network Monitoring / Troubleshooting tools
- Strong experience in scripting skills using Python, Ruby or Bash
- Able to multi-task and shift priorities, as required
