Job Description - Senior Systems Administrator (Azure)

        TITLE:     Senior Systems Administrator (Azure) 
 
    Location: Houston, TX 77041 (on-site) 
 
  Compensation Range:    $100k - $125k

  The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s multi-location technical infrastructure, support and mentoring of IT staff members, and providing support through email and phone to a user base of 400+ users and computers. This is an on-site role with a rapidly growing organization. This role requires experience with Azure cloud products and hands-on network and routing experience.

 

    Responsibilities: 

 

  · Design and document processes and procedures to ensure the compute and storage environment is operating at optimal performance.

 

  · Install, configure, and manage monitoring systems.

 

  · Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.

 

  · Provide technical insight for management, operation, and support of networking equipment and cloud-based services.

 

  · Act as a technical escalation for troubleshooting complex issues.

 

  · Troubleshoot, remediate, and perform root-cause analysis on systems ranging from networking, compute, storage, Azure, MS365, on-prem and Azure AD, Windows and Linux servers, and other related technologies.

 

  · Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction.

 

  · Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

 

  · Subject matter expert for all company technologies.

 

  · Provide on-call support and after-hours maintenance on a scheduled rotation.

 

  · Other responsibilities as requested.

 

    Qualifications: 

 

  · Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of progressive experience.

 

  · 5 years of Windows and Linux Server experience.

 

  · 3 years of SharePoint experience.

 

  · 4 years of extensive Azure cloud experience.

 

  · 4 years of networking and routing experience.

 

  · 4 years of backup experience.

 

  · 3 years of wireless support.

 

  · Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting highly resilient, secure systems.

 

  · Proven ability to configure and support Azure infrastructure and services.

 

  · Strong knowledge of on-prem Active Directory in a multi-domain environment, Azure AD, and Ad Connect.

 

  · Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to articulate technical information to a non-technical audience.

 

  · Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

 

  · Ability to manage and prioritize work.

 

  · Knowledge and understanding of routing, routing protocols, DHCP, DNS, load balancing, scripting, SMTP, GFS backup methodology, conditional access policies, and RBAC.

 

  · Automation experience

 

  · Patch and vulnerability management experience.

 

  · Experience with ConnectWise software is a plus.

 

  · Experience with Epicor Eclipse is a plus.

 

  Occasional overnight domestic travel will be required.
