Job Description - Active Directory Process Specialist

TITLE: ACTIVE DIRECTORY PROCESS SPECIALIST

Location: Remote

Compensation Range : $80/h - $110/h based on experience



A global financial firm is seeking an experienced Active Directory Process Specialist to clean up their current Active Directory environment. The Active Directory Process Specialist will be responsible for understanding the current service accounts, where the stale information/accounts are, and put a proactive plan into place for the Identity team. You will be responsible for a combination of Active Directory clean-up, creation of a maintenance plan and working with the business to design and establish processes around Active Directory. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.



Responsibilities

• Confirm current service account ownership and update where necessary and group service accounts according to their usage
• Create a process to manage service account ownership
• Understand service account usage and note any exceptions to disablement/delete due to inactivity
• Disable any service account that has not logged in for more than 180 days, based on AD and Azure AD, with positive confirmation from SA owner
• Delete AD service accounts that are disabled for more than 60 days, with positive confirmation from SA owner
• Create a process to manage service account lifecycle (create, update, disable/delete)
• Track all changes to service accounts
• Ensure service accounts are used properly and aren't being shared across multiple services; remediate where necessary
• Set up a group managed service account service (process to manage, script to create, training)
• Process to migrate an app from SA to gMSA
• Ensure service account credentials are managed either through Keeper or Cyberark, or can become gMSA
• Rotate stale passwords more than 12 months old

Requirements:

• 8+ years of professional, progressive experience working with Active Directory
• Previous experience doing and Active Directory clean up
• Strong experience creating and establishing processes and maintenance schedules
• Very strong documentation skills
• Active Directory data management
• Powershell experience
• Experiencing creating systems to manage service accounts (CRUD, account ownership, periodic certification, etc)
• Understanding of ServiceNow
• Excellent communication skills - communicating with business owner as well as technical discussion
