Job Description - Full Stack Automation Developer

TITLE: FULL STACK AUTOMATION DEVELOPER

Location: Chicago, IL or Atlanta, GA

Compensation Range : $120k - $150k + bonus

A global financial institution is seeking an experienced Full Stack Automation Developer to join the

Infrastructure Development & Automation team where you will help maintain the infrastructure as well as helping to continue to work with state-of-the-art technologies. This is an opportunity to learn how projects go from concepts to implemented solutions, as well as learning how a global organization operates. The Full Stack Automation Developer will work on various software projects such as network automation, server automation, application deployment automation, and infrastructure discovery.  You will work on frontend web applications, backend API services, 3rd party automation platforms with various types of APIs, act as a subject matter expert on aspects of the tech stack, as well as perform the day-to-day operational tasks it takes to maintain our service offerings. You will be exposed to all layers of development and enterprise SDLC processes.  Excellent communication skills are required.



Responsibilities

• Write and maintain software that interacts with various network and server devices, automation platforms, databases, and user inputs
• Gather requirements from relevant stakeholders
• Keep project stakeholders updated on progress
• Help ensure an orderly release management and SDLC process is followed
• Collaborate with other teams within the organization to ensure correct interoperability and timely delivery of project components
• Create and maintain documentation of system components and operations
• Write unit and integration tests that ensure system reliability
• Help cross-train internal peers on new solutions and tooling
• Take ownership of tools and sub-components

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Computer Science (or related field) degree
• Experience with modern component-based frontend development (e.g. Angular2+, ReactJS, Vue.js, etc.)
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems
• Development experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go (golang) or the desire to learn these languages if coming from a different background
• Data model schema design and the translation between the various layers in an application's tech stack
• Familiarity with key:value data stores (e.g. redis)
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with automation platforms like Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack
• Ability to work with JSON, XML, YAML, INI, and proprietary data interchange formats
• Familiarity with SDLC planning software (e.g. Jira)
• Familiarity with a DVCS (e.g. git) and working on a multi-member project utilizing such tool
• Familiarity with functional and integration testing
• Familiarity with IT software build automation toolchains and components (e.g. Jenkins)
• Ability to work with others on both an ad hoc and project team basis, across organizational boundaries
• Good communication skills
