Job Description - Java Developer

TITLE: Java Developer

Location: 

100% Remote- Pacific or Mountain Time zone

Contract 

6-month + Extension 



Our Client is looking for a strong coder with experience navigating and understanding complex code.



What You'll Do:

• Your typical workday includes participating in daily scrums and other agile ceremonies while carving out your own path to improve existing code bases through fixing defects and coding new security-related features.
• You will perform and scrutinize security scans of production java code seeking to understand, interpret, and fix the vulnerabilities, which range from updating 3 ^rd party dependency libraries, to making code changes.
• You will work closely with other engineers who will help you with onboarding and navigating the existing source code.
• Must be self motivated

Skills / Experience You Will Need:

• Must have a keen eye for detail and demonstrated experience managing risk in changes across shared code bases
• Demonstrated knowledge of the JVM and memory management principals
• Strong understanding of parallel workflows and how to avoid thread safety issues
• Java expertise
• Proficiency in software development on a Linux platform
• Strong knowledge on data structures and algorithms
• Strong experience developing SOAP web services
• Demonstrated experience with the Spring Framework
• Strong experience with Maven and resolving transient dependency issues
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to decompose complex technical details for a broad audience
