Job Description - VP of IT Operations

TITLE: VP OF IT OPERATIONS

Location: Chicago, IL or Atlanta, GA

Compensation Range : $160k - $180k + bonus



An established and growing real estate organization is seeking an experienced VP of IT Operations to join their team.  As the VP of IT Operations, you will lead teams responsible for corporate IT operations and property technologies focused on enhancing the client experience. You will be part of the internal innovation committee, handling evaluations with emerging technology and its value-add, as well as portfolio management. The ideal candidate will have progressive technical experience from hands-on engineering to a people leader who understands tech but will not need to be hands-on.  The VP of IT Operations will be at the forefront of the company's understanding, evaluation, adoption, and optimization of multi-family technology and will be in a highly visible role working closely with C-Levels and the business.  Excellent communication skills are required.



Responsibilities:

• Research and understand trends in information technology and various physical-property technologies
• Introduce ideas, technology, and methods contributing to the company's strategic vision.
• Lead, manage, coach, and develop internal staff.
• Oversee and direct staff in the efficient management of networks, infrastructure, systems, and service desk operations
• Lead and participate in the technology acquisition process. Evaluate business case requirements, technologies and vendors, conduct RFP selection process and execute proof of concept pilots.
• Oversee and manage staff responsible for implementing multiple concurrent community and building technology projects.
• Regularly interface with the CEO, CIO, VP of Marketing, Development & Construction VPs, and other leadership on initiatives.
• Cultivate and manage the company's relationships with industry peers, partners, and vendors
• Represent the organizations strategic interests on industry panels and groups, partner customer advisory councils, and internal committees.

Requirements:

• College degree required. Information Technology or Business degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in Information Technology role with increasing levels of responsibility preferred.
• 2+ years experience in a Sr. Manager or Director or Vice President of IT role
• Previous experience working within real estate or property management is a huge plus but not required
• Previous experience with data centers and/or office moves, upgrades, build-outs, etc.
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to navigate competing and changing priorities
• Strong interpersonal and people management skills required
• Knowledgeable of current available technology solutions and proficient in Microsoft applications. 
• Experience in managing a diverse workforce. 
• Ability to manage conflict, provide strategic direction and drive business results by managing the performance of staff members
• Travel up to 10% may be required, including attendance at conferences and meetings
• Excellent written and verbal skills required
