TITLE: CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT (CI) MANAGER

Location: Remote

Compensation Range : $130k - $160k + bonus


A national consumer goods organization is seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager to join their growing team.  The CI Manager should be an experienced Black Belt or Master Black Belt who leads a portfolio of Continuous Improvement (CI) projects using variations of Lean, Six Sigma / Kaizen (DMAIC/DFSS) and BPM (Business Process Management) modeling methodologies.  The ideal Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager should effectively adapt and improvise in order to generate approaches that best fit operational and organizational constraints. You will be responsible for coaching department-level CI project leaders and engaging project sponsors, process owners, and stakeholders to deliver performance improvement.  You will also scope improvement opportunities as well as deliver basic CI training to team members and leaders within the organization. Excellent communication skills are required.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a portfolio of Lean, Six Sigma / Kaizen (DMAIC/DFSS), BPM modeling projects or more complex projects and/or programs to deliver business results which may include cost reduction, cash flow improvement, revenue enhancement, defect reduction, and cycle time improvement working with a long-term perspective to meet strategic objectives.
  • Have sufficient mastery of the aforementioned disciplines to be able to improvise and adapt the methodology in order to best fit the project needs and constraints without compromising basic principles and values
  • Coach and develop department-level CI leaders to execute CI projects successfully as well as apply CI tools in daily work.
  • Lead workshops and Kaizen events to bring together cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and achieve targeted performance improvement in a compressed timeframe within the context of projects for targeted processes
  • Drive a culture of customer focus, data-driven decision-making, ownership of processes and operational metrics and continuous improvement, formulating guidelines which promote leadership and collaboration
  • Engages sponsors, process owners, team members and stakeholders to deliver performance improvement using CI tools, methods and concepts, while providing leadership and advice on these technical areas
  • Deliver basic CI training to introduce team members company mission and methods
  • Establish capabilities in specific toolsets and methodologies such as DMAIC, Design for Lean Six Sigma (DFLSS), Process Management, Statistical Process Control, Strategy Deployment/Hoshin, Change Management, and Project Management, which support the business strategy
  • Identify, scope, and prioritize improvement opportunities linked to the company's operating and strategic objectives and lead teams in the process
  • Play a role in facilitating the effectiveness of the enterprise-wide CI deployment including active participation in the CI Center of Excellence, development and customization of training and certification standards, project tracking, financial tracking, best practice diffusion, benchmarking of industry best practices, and other duties to enable the success of the company's CI CoE.



REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of experience in Process Improvement and/or Continuous Improvement
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent based on experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • 4+ years of experience indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other team members preferred
  • Hands-on experience with BPM tools and modules, specifically process modeling and process mining preferred but not required
  • Experience leading a sizable number of projects from initiation to successful completion with demonstrated financial benefits
  • Experience coaching a sizable number of projects from initiation to successful completion with demonstrated financial benefits
  • Experience facilitating and leading teams
  • Experience teaching Lean Six Sigma tools, methods and concepts at the Black Belt level
  • Experience partnering with business leaders to deploy CI infrastructure
  • Experience delivering business results as a project leader
  • Experience presenting to business leadership teams and senior leadership
