Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Corporate Controller for Real Estate Private Equity firm. The position will be located in Miami, FL and will report to the CFO. This individual will have one junior accounting staff reporting to them and will require close interaction and collaboration with leadership, accounting, investment, asset management and property management professionals of the company. Although defined as a position emphasizing detailed accounting and reporting responsibilities, the role will provide for professional growth in a broad range of disciplines in real estate investment financial operations.
The primary responsibilities of the position are:
- Financial Reporting – Accountable for accuracy, integrity, timeliness, and consistency of all transactions associated with the management company for a real estate private equity fund manager.
- Review and approve all journal entries and cash reconciliations for multiple management company entities
- Reconcile payroll, expenses and oversee bill paying
- Perform quarterly closing activities and prepare monthly financial reporting package for management company, which includes preparing / reviewing all supporting work papers for the consolidation of different business lines
- Manage employee carry program

- Annual and Long-Term Budgeting – Assist in creating annual budgets and long-term forecasts for business units and consolidated corporate entities
Qualifications:
- Minimum of eight years of experience in accounting for corporate entities. Experience at a real estate operator or investment firm a plus.
- BS degree in accounting is a must
- Must have experience using Excel
- Experience in collaborating with internal and external resources to perform accounting, reporting, taxation, and financial operations for corporate entities.
- Demonstrated command of accounting and general business computer applications.
- Superior business skills, attention to detail.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative skills, including strong oral and written communication.
- Energy and commitment to work in high-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment.
