Job Description - Principal Cloud Engineer

        TITLE: Principal Cloud Engineer 
 
    Location:   Midvale, Utah 
 
  Compensation Range: $60-$90/hour   
 

  We seeking an experienced Principal Cloud Engineer with strong Cloud Infrastructure, Security, and Data skills for an excellent opportunity within our Cloud Services team.

 

 
        What You’ll Do:      

 
•   Contribute to the design and deployment of enterprise-wide scalable, highly available, secure, and reliable platforms and architecture on GCP full-stack
 
•   Establish Google Cloud foundations while on-boarding native cloud services to meet infrastructure and project specifications and needs
 
•   Establish reusable patterns to be used across engineering teams
 
•   Collaborate across different areas within business and technology to create a clear and cohesive vision to drive future state Google Cloud Platform
 
•   Maintain awareness of industry trends and technologies, recommending timely adjustments to strategies as appropriate
 
•   Assist with the development of and management of security & governance processes to ensure that cloud deployments are secure while following industry best practices
 

 
        Skills / Experience You Will Need:       ​​​​​​​

 
•   10+ years of relevant work experience
 
•   Strong knowledge of Terraform
 
•   Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
 
•   Strong knowledge of Public Cloud Platform (AWS, Azure, GCP)
 
•   Experience with Git
 
•   Good understanding of Network and Security principles
 
•   Good understanding of Data and Integration Fabric architecture patterns
 
•   Strong experience working with architecture patterns
 
•   Basic knowledge of programming language like Python
 
•   Understanding of automated testing and logging frameworks to ensure high quality deployments
 
•   Ability to understand and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
 
•   Comfortable communicating with teams via showcases/demos
 
•   Ability to communicate at all levels from Developer to Executive
 
•   Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
 
•   Previous Cloud Engineer experience
 
•   Bachelor’s in information technology, computer science, or a related field
 
•   2+ years of experience with CI/CD (e.g. Azure DevOps Pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab)
 
•   Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience
 
•   Agile Development Methodologies (e.g. SAFe, Kanban, Scrum)
 
•   Understanding of distributed systems, data structures, design principles, algorithms
