Director of Logistics


Under the direct supervision of the CFO, this position will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Logistics team which is responsible for all aspects of procurement for both RFA and its clients.



  • Provide support to the Logistics department on a host of topics including but not limited to:
  • Create project scopes to outline new and improved objectives for the logistics department to ensure workflow processes are as efficient and effective for day to day operations.
  • Review operational budget costs associated with overall logistics purchases.
  • Negotiate with manufacturers/vendors/distributors for best pricing of products.
  • Proactively search for discounts associated with products to ensure optimal savings for the company.
  • Create project plans to assist the department in becoming a profit center for the company through analysis of products being purchased, types of clients supported, negotiating with vendors/manufacturers to create a business partnership, etc.
  • Communicate closely with CFO on department improvement objectives that would enable the department to become an active business partner in the company.
  • Manage and oversee order processing, procurement, vendor management, team building/staff development and facilities management in the logistics department.
  • Develop new standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed when changes are being implemented within the logistics department.
  • Review Logistics team's performance with manufacturers, vendors, distributors, shipping/receiving companies against targets, benchmarks and service agreements.
  • Maintain and develop positive business relationships with all staff members, key stakeholders, external clients and vendors.
  • Manage team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking of work assignments. Mentor team members as necessary.
  • Monitor availability and allocation of materials, supplies, and IT products.
  • Able to adapt to different roles in Logistics as required or as needed based off projects.
  • Communicate with different levels of management including C-level executives and department managers for logistic needs.
  • Effectively demonstrate a sense of urgency while acting in a professional, calm manner to manage appropriate/realistic expectations to ensure overall client satisfaction.
  • Leverage critical thinking skills to evaluate all possible solutions and use appropriate judgment to apply most effective resolutions



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management or equivalent level of hands-on experience.
  • 7-10 years of Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Program Management or combination of work experience required.
  • Able to multitask and work well under pressure are very important, as those in this position often have multiple projects to manage simultaneously
  • Experience in purchasing IT equipment including but not limited to hardware/software
  • Experienced in managing and delegating tasks to other team members.
  • Self-starter who is able to project manages and executes the tasks being assigned.
  • Impeccable verbal/written communication.
  • Exhibit a high-level of professionalism and sound judgment.
